IPL Auction Live: Ishan Kishan is the most expensive buy so far this IPL 2022 Auction as Mumbai India break the bank and secure him for INR 15.25 crore. Deepak Chahar fetched a colossal 14 crore by Chennai Super Kings to become the second-most expensive player so far this auction. While Prasidh Krishna and Lockie Ferguson bagged 10 crores each, going to RR and LSG, respectively, Josh Hazlewood was bought by RCB for 7.75 crore. Shardul Thakur also bagged big money as DC bought him for INR 10.75 crore. From the spinners' lot, Kuldeep Yadav was the first one to be picked as DC bought him for 2 cr. Rahul Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal were the next spinners to be purchased. They went to Punjab Kings and RR, respectively. Earlier in the afternoon, the IPL 2022 Auction resumed with Charu Sharma taking over the duties for the day from an unwell Hugh Edmeades collapsed mid-event. So far, Shreyas Iyer and Harshal Patel have bagged some of the highest bids. We witnessed a multi-team bidding war for Wanindu Hasaranga and he was eventually bought by RCB for INR 10.75 crore. While KKR bought Iyer for INR 12.25 crore, RCB splashed a huge sum on Harshal Patel, getting him back for INR 10.75 crore. At the start of the day, Punjab Kings were in business early, buying Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada. Kolkata Knight Riders bought back Pat Cummins. Rajasthan Royals picked Trent Boult and R Ashwin before Lucknow Super Giants bagged Quinton de Kock. Mohammed Shami and Faf du Plessis have gone to Gujarat Titans and RCB, respectively. David Warner is going to reunite with Delhi Capitals. RR also bought Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer, while Uthappa and Jason Roy were bagged for their base prices. Smith, Miller, and Raina go unsold. Jason Holder goes to Lucknow, while Dwayne Bravo is back with CSK, while Nitish Rana returns to KKR. After that, Deepak Hooda was sold to Lucknow. After the break, Washington Sundar has been purchased for INR 8.75 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Krunal Pandya went to Lucknow Super Giants before Mohammed Nabi and Wade went unsold. IPL Auction 2022: The Tale So Far

As per the rules, all 8 teams belonging to the existing IPL setup could retain a maximum of up to 4 players ahead of the auction with each team retaining not more than 3 Indian players and not more than 2 Overseas players. For the 2 news teams, the BCCI had allowed the 2 new teams to retain 3 players from the list of released players by the 8 old teams with each of the 2 new teams not being allowed to retain a maximum of 2 Indian Players and 1 Overseas player.

While the Lucknow Supergiants went ahead with KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi as their 3 retentions, the Gujarat Titans went ahead with Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill as their 3 retentions ahead of IPL auction 2022. KL Rahul was named the captain of the Lucknow Supergiants franchise and Gujarat Titans named Hardik Pandya as their skipper for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
